Fallen Leaf Lake (June 2015)

We took Gwen to our favorite camping spot for the first time. She seemed to really admire the beauty around her, taking in the big world! She had started sleeping better, so James and I were able to spend more time at night together by the fire, and play dominos! We had a snafu with our campsite, as we made a date switch which didn't get confirmed, but luckily they had 2 open sites and our trip was saved. We walked to Lake Tahoe and spent the mornings by Fallen Leaf lake. We did not bring the paddle board, as our sedan has been filled to the max since Gwen's arrival, but we will soon have a new camping vehicle to make this possible again!

Road Trip 2015! (May 2015)

We took our first family road trip in May and had a blast! We drove from Sacramento to Las Vegas via Route 395, along the eastern Sierras. We then drove on to Flagstaff, stopping by the Hoover Dam, then on to Sedona where we stayed for a few days. The main purpose of our trip was to go to the Overland Expo at Mormon Lake to check out all the adventure gear/vehicles, as we were dreaming of someday soon getting our own! We really enjoyed Sedona, such a beautiful area and had a nice short morning hike around. We then headed north to the south rim of the Grand Canyon for a few days. There we had a cute little cabin near the Bright Angel trailhead, we enjoyed good meals at the Bright angel lodge and took a very short walk down the trail for the view. The last leg of our trip was driving back to Las vegas via Route 66, then spent a couple days with Grandpa Ralph. We was also able to get a couple days with Grammie and Granddad Garber in LA before headed home. We had a great trip and Gwen proved to be a great car- rider. She had rough nights sleeping in new places, and we ended up co-sleeping a lot, but we had a great time as a family. Can't wait until our next road trip!

Lake Solano Camping (5/8/15)

We headed out again to Lake Solano (this is where Gwen had her first camping trip!) with our good friends, the Wilkinsons (Megan, Aaron, Job and Jerah). We had a great time making meals, and taking a short walk by the water. Gwen was not sleeping well yet, so our nights were cut short from hanging out by the campfire, but we still managed to have fun!

Upper Little Truckee, Aug 2014.  Our last camping trip of the season and before the baby arrives.  Great fun with friends trying a new spot to camp

Our summer trip was a spent with a few days in Waynesboro Pa. for Bev's family reunion then we drove to Dayton, Ohio  (via Pittsburgh) on the Lincoln Highway to check out the Air Force museum on Wright-Patterson AFB.
